In June 2024, we made this short film for a local competition where filmmakers had 2 weeks to create and submit a film. On the post-side of things, with production in the idyllic SoCal mountain town of Crestline wrapped, we had a few days to cut and deliver the finished short. After a few sleepless nights of Chancler Haynes editing, me post-supervising/vfx’ing, Connor Bailey color grading, and Adrian Arteaga doing all things post-sound, of course, we submitted moments before the deadline. Having not won the local competition and with it well past us, I was shocked when director Julien Lasseur told me that Sundance accepted the short. That shock has now evolved into excitement as we hurtle towards debuting it in Park City’s Egyptian Theatre.
